Dales and the hidden corners of Queen Elizabeth II's Bowland. Start in undiscovered
countryside still owned today by Her Majesty the Queen - a place to which
she once said she and Prince Philip would love to retire. Then take in the
Yorkshire Dales and Lake District.

Day
1 Arrive in the Queen's favorite place, tucked away in the valleys of the
verdant Bowland Forest
Day 2
A private tour of Browsholme Hall owned by the Parker family since the
1600s. Stroll around the ancient hamlet of Chipping with its tiny cottages
in the shadow of the impressive fells. Walk through the beautiful unspoiled
Hodder Valley back "home".
Day 3 Stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales as we pass through the official
center of the Kingdom. Visit friends before walking through a patchwork
of fields, streams and ancient villages. A guided tour of the impressive
Lancaster Castle finishes an impressive day.
Day 4 The lesser-known areas of the impressive Yorkshire Dales National
Park. Along the winding River Dee, we come to pretty Dent village with
its cobbled main street. Then explore the picturesque market town of Kirkby
Lonsdale.
Day 5 A personal tour of Holker Hall and gardens then move on to Cartmel,
home to Cartmel races and its famous Sticky Toffee Pudding. Discover hidden
Lakeland on your walk around Strawberry Bank
Day 6
Stop at pretty Hawkshead village, associated with Beatrix Potter, then
on to Ruskin's Brantwood, "the most beautiful house in Lakeland".
Walk the paths and woodland tracks and perhaps stop for a drink in a country
inn.
Day 7 Why not stay some more and explore the scenery that inspired so
many?
